1,293 new COVID-19 Cases in Illinois, 81 Additional Deaths Reported Saturday

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Saturday that Illinois added 1,293 cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus, including 81 additional deaths.

Of those deaths, 55 were in Cook County, 8 in Lake County, and 5 each in Dupage and Will Counties. St. Clair and Kankakee Counties each reported 2 deaths. Champaign, Jackson, McHenry, and Winnebago Counties each reported 1 death.

McDonough, Perry and Warren Counties are each now reporting a case of the virus.

IDPH says they are reporting a total of 19,180 cases, including 677 deaths over 86 counties in the state.

Additionally, The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is reporting that an employee of the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is isolating at home and IDVA is investigating potential exposures. At this time, IDVA says there are no positive cases of COVID-19 at any Illinois Veterans homes.

A separate standalone facility on the Manteno grounds has seen 4 employees and two homeless veterans test positive, with an investigation underway to determine potential exposures.
