1,465 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Reported in Illinois Friday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday announced 1,465 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state, including 68 additional deaths.
47 of the deaths were reported in Cook County. There were six deaths each in DuPage and Will Counties. There were four deaths in Lake County, two deaths in Kane County, and one death each in Kankakee, Rock Island, and St. Clair Counties.
Fulton and Greene Counties are now reporting a case. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 17,887 cases, including 596 deaths, in 83 counties in Illinois.
As of Friday, three positive cases have been reported in Effingham County, including one death. As far as area counties, Fayette County has had seven positive cases, Jasper and Shelby Counties three cases each, Cumberland and Coles Counties two cases each, and Clay County no cases yet.
