1,287 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease Announced Tuesday

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday announced 1,287 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 73 additional deaths.
41 deaths occurred in Cook County, 10 in Will County, five in Lake County, four in DuPage County, three in Kane County, two in Winnebago County, and one each in Champaign, Christian, Ford, Kankakee, Madison, McHenry, Monroe, and Tazewell Counties.
Coles, Lawrence, Richland, and Shelby counties are now reporting cases. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 13,549 cases, including 380 deaths, in 77 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.
Governor J.B. Pritzker confirmed during Tuesday's daily briefing that a staff member in the Governor's Office has tested positive for coronavirus disease and is self-isolating. Pritzker said the staffer went home 12 days ago.
