Coronavirus 2020

The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday announced 1,006 new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois. That includes 33 additional deaths.

22 of the deaths occurred in Cook County. Eight of the deaths occurred in Will County. There were two deaths in Lake County and one death in DeKalb County.

Jefferson and Wabash counties are now reporting cases. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 12,262 cases, including 307 deaths, in 73 counties in Illinois.

Public Health State Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike cautioned against those seeing the warm forecast for Tuesday and planning to head outdoors. She said staying indoors will help maintain any progress that's been made in "flattening the curve".
