Some Park District Facilities Being Closed for Time Being

Effingham Park District Executive Director Jeff Althoff said never in his life did he think he'd be asking for this announcement to be made, but for the time being, all playground equipment, pavilions and the skate park are closed until the District gets the All Clear from the State to open them back up.

Althoff said people are still congregating in numbers too large to meet the State's guidelines of 10 or fewer individuals in a group. He said the parks are still open so people can walk or run, people can play catch or hit balls on a ball diamond, disc golf can continue, and people can play tennis...as long as the activities don't involve a group.
