Many retailers are facing difficult days. A number of them are operating online only, while others are closed until the pandemic passes.
Walmart is still operating, but with curtailed hours and with some difficulties in obtaining stock.
The company Wednesday announced new guidelines in an effort to keep staff and customers healthy.
One step is to take the temperatures of Walmart associates as they report to work, as well as asking them some basic health screening questions. Any associate with a temperature of 100 degrees will be paid for reporting to work and asked to return and seek medical treatment, if necessary.
The company has also decided to make masks and gloves available for associates who want to wear them.
Walmart also plans to adhere to 6-20-100 guidelines. 6 feet is for the amount of space people should keep from others. 20 seconds is amount of time people should take to wash their hands with soap and water. 100 degrees is the temperature that someone should stay home with.
