The Altamont Unit 10 School District has issued a letter focusing on a four-point plan in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The four points:
--Account for the safety and health of students and staff
--Feed the children of the district
--Continue learnng opportunities for district students
--Communicate Clearly
Under Point One: Altamont staff are following the Governor's "Stay at Home" Mandate...Essential staff are reporting and practicing "social distancing"...the custodial team is continuing to deep clean both buildings
Under Point Two: Last week, over 900 lunches were delivered...Lunch is free for any Altamont student under age 18 while school is canceled...a revised schedule will deliver meals 2-3 times a week rather than 5 times a week, but the same amount of food is being delivered...teacher volunteers began Monday, March 30 and, if you'd like to volunteer, contact Leslie Wendling
Under Point Three: there are free internet access opportunities...the grade school learning plan involves packets, while Grades 7-12 utilize laptops
Under Point Four: communication regarding the Altamont district's response to COVID-19 is available at www.altamontschools.org...utilize the Altamont district's grade school and high school Facebook pages or by following @Unit10Tweets...as information becomes available, it will be relayed to all those in the community
