Teutopolis Village Board Meets; Village Hall Closed TFN

Teutopolis village board members took action at its recent meeting on items concerning Prairie View Subdivision.

The Board's Architecture Committee met prior to the Board meeting and made recommendations on three new building plans for the subdivision. The Board then approved those plans, and also released a reservation on possession of a lot in the subdivision.

Board members also approved a quote for inspecting the Village Hall as to asbestos in the structure. The Board is looking at whether to build a new Village Hall.

The Board also followed a Planning Commission recommendation to vacate a portion of Green Street from Main Street to the CSX Railroad, but tabled a vote on closing Main Street on Saturday, June 13 for the Knights of Columbus Parade.

In an unrelated item, Teutopolis Village Board President Greg Hess has announced that Teutopolis Village Hall is now closed to the public, as of 8am Monday, until further notice.

Anyone who has any questions or concerns, or needs essential municipal help, should phone the Hall at 857-3543 or Greg Hess at 663-2108 to set up an appointment.

Water bills and any correspondence can be placed in the drop box by the Village Hall's front door.
