Two people were taken for treatment from a crash at 4:10am today along northbound I-57/eastbound I-70, one mile east of the Keller Drive interchange.
Effingham Fire Chief Bob Tutko said a car left the roadway, missing a guardrail, then traveled 1,000 feet before coming to an abrupt stop at the 4th Street overpass.
Tutko said both the driver and a passenger were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment by Abbott EMS. Illinois State Police are handling the crash.
