Effingham Unit 40 will hold their Regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, March 23 at 6:00 PM.

Due to the COVID-19 concerns the meeting will be altered in accordance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2020-07.  These include:

·         The meeting site has changed to the EHS Hearts Rock Cafe.

·         Board members may be attending both in person and/or by electronic communication (per OMA parameters in Executive Order 2020-07).

·         The District understands the hesitancy of many to attend a public meeting in the present COVID-19 environment. Individuals who do not wish to attend the meeting due to COVID-19 concerns will still have the ability to participate during the Public Comment portion of the meeting by emailing your public comments to doanm@unit40.org by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23. A District administrator in attendance at the meeting will read your comments to the board members attending in person or electronically.

·         However, if you choose to physically attend the meeting, the District asks that you inform the Unit office of your attendance by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020 by calling the following telephone number (217) 540-1502 and leaving a message or email doanm@unit40.org . This will allow for arrangement of the meeting room to observe recommended social distancing protocols.

During a visit to our studios Thursday, Superintendent Mark Doan said the agenda will be limited to essential items. One item deals with issuing notice of a proposed reclassification of a building principal.

Other personnel matters are on the agenda, along with the proposed purchase of a forklift.
