Both the City of Effingham and the County of Effingham have shared information regarding their office operations while the COVID-19 outbreak continues.
The City of Effingham has announced that City Hall is now closed to the public. The decision was effective at 4:30pm Wednesday. Deputy City Administrator Kelsey Lock said the action was "for the protection of our citizens and personnel."
The announcement said that all City services still remain fully operational and accessible via telephone, email and online resources located on the City's website at www.effinghamil.com
The County of Effingham announcement is that "all Effingham County government offices are open and operating during normal hours." The message also states "for the safety of citizens and County employees, please do not come in unless necessary. You are welcomed to contact any County office by telephone or email. Both ways are effective for conducting County business under the current conditions."
Contact information for each department can be found on the County government website at co.effingham.il.us.
The message reads, "Even with the threat of Coronavirus, Effingham County officials and employees intend to serve the public as efficiently as possible."
