Tuesday 2020 Primary Election Results from Area Counties

Here are results from contested races Tuesday in area counties:
CUMBERLAND COUNTY--
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Coroner, incumbent Steve Sherwood defeated Donnie Cornwell, 996 to 798
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Board from the Central District, incumbent Ronald Black and challenger Bryce Fitch each received 317 votes. There are still some absentee ballots yet to be counted, so the contest hasn't gone final yet.
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Board from the Western District, incumbent Floyd Holkenbrink defeated challenger Aaron Beard, 311 to 261.
JASPER COUNTY--
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Coroner, incumbent Jason Meyer defeated challenger David Bloomber, 1,375 to 848.
SHELBY COUNTY--
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Board District 2, Mark Bennett defeated Bruce Cannon, 246 to 75.
In the State's Attorney's race, Republican Nichole Kroncke formally won the nomination. As of now, Kroncke has no opposition, as Democrat incumbent Gina Vonderheide has now decided not to seek re-election and has withdrawn her candidacy.
In the Cowden Village Liquor Sales question, the vote was Yes 53, No 79.
In the question about repairing the Chautaqua Building in Forest Park in Shelbyville, the vote was Yes 529, No 362
CLAY COUNTY--
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Coroner, challenger Bryce Henry defeated incumbent Wesley Miller, 1,460 to 1,290
In the contest for the Republican nomination for County Board District G, Chris Rinehart defeated John Rourk, 115 to 77
FAYETTE COUNTY--
There were no contested races in the county on Tuesday, but county voters did favor the non-binding referendum on separating the rest of the state from Chicago and Cook County, 2,730 Yes to 741 No.
All area counties that considered the question saw a majority Yes vote.
