The City of Effingham continues to monitor the rapidly changing situation around the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

The City released the following statement Monday afternoon:

"City staff continue to meet regularly and are staying connected with state and local public health officials, as well as with other local community leaders, to ensure we are clear and consistent in our communications and aligned in our response plans.

"The City will continue to provide services as usual. To protect our citizens and employees, we encourage the use of our online tools for payments, applications, permitting, and notifications, which are located on the City’s website.

"We urge everyone to remain calm during this time, and to continue to practice commonsense personal measures to prevent the spread of germs and viruses.

"Thank you for your concern and support as we work to 'flatten the curve' of the Coronavirus pandemic. Future information and updates will be located very soon
on our City Website, www.effinghamil.com."
