Man Who Turned DC Water Around to Guest at EJ Annual Meeting Tonight

George Hawkins, the man who turned around the fortunes of DC Water, the water system that serves the Nation's Capital, was the featured speaker at the 2020 annual meeting of E-J Water Cooperative.

The event was held at Dieterich High School Thursday evening.

Hawkins is Founder and CEO of Moonshot Missions, an entity designed to help foster such initiatives as E-J Water, who terms E-J something that could be replicated across the nation.

Hawkins said people across the nation, including in Washington, DC, know of E-J. Researchers at Duke University and Pennsylvania University are studying E-J Water in hopes of learning from the utility established in Dieterich and now serving water customers in 14 counties.
