Beecher City School Board Approves Graduation Date

Beecher City school board members Monday set their 2020 graduation date for Saturday, May 9.

The Board also dismissed educational support personnel as of the end of the school year, although some or all could later be rehired once enrollment is established.

The Board also:

--approved course additions for the coming school year, including switching Intro to Ag and Ag Science II between freshman and sophomore years, offering World History in two semesters, making US History 1 one full required year beginning 2020 for sophomores, and changing Math 3 to Algebra 2, Math 2 to Geometry, and Math 1 to Algebra 1

--approved the hire of Jenna Tedrick as social worker for the coming school year

--approved SDS as the district's financial software system

--accepted the resignation of Marcella Antrim at the end of the school year

--approved the school calendar for the coming school year

--authorized Superintendent Phil Lark to prepare a tentative budget for the coming fiscal year

--approved membership in the IHSA and IESA for the coming school year

--approved membership in the SEPCO purchasing co-operative for the coming school year

--apporved Markel Insurance for the coming school year.
