The Effingham Regional Growth Alliance...commonly known as The Alliance...is ready for a new start.

A release from The Alliance indicates three chief initiatives.

First, the agency has hired GovHR, a firm that specializes in professional assistance and search for leaders and key employees for economic development groups and city/county managers and those types of organizations. They have started the search for The Alliance's new President. They expect to have one found and hired by May or June. Contact any of the Executive Committee if you have questions about the process.

Secondly, The Alliance is still working on the purchase of land for a possible residential development. They've had to slow down on the project a bit because the infrastructure development costs came in at a level where affordable does not seem possible. They are looking at alternative ways to fund or build the project.

Third, The Alliance is partnering with the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce to do “MAPPING” (a strategic planning outline) together. They are using the same group that has assisted Dieterich with their success. Teutopolis has started their own sessions recently. They are looking at a county wide effort.
