Injury Crash in Fayette County Late Friday Morning

A semi tractor trailer crash occurred in Fayette County just before noon Friday morning.

The crash happened on US Route 51, four miles north of Ramsey. State police report the rig, driven by 62-year-old Leroy Elder of Vandalia was headed southbound when it left the west side of the roadway, struck the ditch, and rolled over onto its passenger side, blocking both lanes of traffic.

Elder was taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment of what authorities termed minor injuries.

Elder was cited for improper lane usage.
