Effingham firefighters were out at 4:30 Tuesday morning due to an overturned semi along the interstate.
Effingham Fire Chief Bob Tutko said the scene was Southbound I-57, just south of the 57/70 split on the north end of Effingham.
Tutko said the truck was hauling Christmas packages. The drivers were uninjured, but firefighters had to utilize a ladder to remove the drivers from the cab of the rig.
The Chief encourages everyone to slow down considering the wet and snowy conditions.
