The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education Monday approved the expulsion of two district students.

The expulsions are in effect through the end of the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The students were referred to alternative education.

The Board also purchased four interior doors to replace the doors in the Central Grade School library. These doors include panic bars for added security. Unit staffers will install the doors. The bid totaled $11,744.

Board members also approved a vision and mission statement, and further discussed board goals and how to achieve those goals. The hope is that the goals will be finalized at the Board's regular monthly meeting later this month.
