An Effingham man has begun serving a four-year prison sentence for residential burglary.

33-year-old William P. Knight, Jr. was arrested in September of 2018 for illegally entering a barn on the property of a rural Effingham family. Items taken from the barn were found in Knight's vehicle.

Knight pleaded guilty this fall, but began serving his sentence on Monday.
