Michigan Man Killed in Semi Crash On Interstate West of Effingham Wednesday Morning

A Dearborn, Michigan man was killed in a crash involving his semi west of Effingham on Eastbound I-70.

The crash happened at 10:30am, three miles from Effingham. 

Illinois State Police report the rig driven by 38-year-old Maher Qaid-Hassan Adam left the south side of the roadway and traveled down an embankment, striking a ditch and coming to rest in a tree line.

Maher Qaid-Hassan Adam was taken by Abbott EMS to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham where he was pronounced dead.
