The first signs of snow being seen in Illinois and more expected later in the week.

Some areas north of the Quad Cities and west of Rockford saw one-to-three inches on grassy areas Monday night into Tuesday morning.

East and south of those areas, Freese-Notis meteorologist Dan Hicks expects the system to produce from a half-inch to 1.5 inches of rainfall and that includes parts of Illinois. He believes most of Illinois will finish October with normal to above normal precipitation.

The Effingham area could see some snow Thursday night.
