The November murder trial date in a Fayette County case has been vacated, and no new trial date has been set.

70-year-old David Bright of Mulberry Grove is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the September 2017 killing of James Skinner of rural Brownstown. Bright faces 20 years to life in prison on each count.

In court Tuesday, defense counsel Bill Starnes asked that the jury trial date be waived, and prosecutors had no objection. Judge Kevin Parker waived the trial date, and instead set a pre-trial hearing for the morning of November 27, when a new trial date could be set.

The case was earlier delayed when Bright was examined as to his fitness to stand trial, but he was later judged fit.

Bright is being held in Fayette County Jail under $1 million bond.
