IDOT, Governor Release List of Capital Projects for Area

The Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker have announced transportation improvement projects planned over the next five years.

Interstate improvements include:

Interstate 57 at Eastern Illinois Railroad just south of the Neoga interchange and US Route 45 at the Neoga interchange. The project involves four bridge replacements, median crossovers, and a railroad flagger. The project will cost $18.4 million.

Interstate 57 from US Route 45 at Neoga to the Coles County line in Cumberland County. Resurfacing on 3.7 miles, including ramp repair at the Neoga interchange and related repairs at a cost of $10.3 million.

Interstate 57 at the Illinois Route 16 interchange east of Mattoon. Two bridge replacements and reconstruction of the interchange are programmed at a cost of $31.2 million.

Interstate 70 from the abandoned railroad bridge at Altamont to about a mile east of the Altamont interchange. That includes reconstruction of one mile, bridge superstructure replacement, bridge removal and bridge raising at a cost of $14 million.
