Police Investigating Burglaries on Illini Drive

Effingham City Police are investigating two residential burglaries on Illini Drive.

One burglary occurred sometime between 6:30am and 7:25pm Thursday.  Jewelry valued at $50 was taken.

The other burglary occurred sometime between 7:25am and 4:38pm Thursday.  A purse valued at $50 and a handgun valued at $550 were taken.

In both incidents, entry was gained by breaking the doors on the units.

Police are also investigating two theft incidents.

10 catalytic converters valued at $200 each were taken from Nease's Body Shop on Keller Drive between 3:37pm Wednesday and 10:37am Thursday.

Also, a retail theft occurred at Kohl's on Ford Avenue at approximately 3:20pm Thursday.  A pair of shoes and a necklace were taken.
