Barn Fire Near Altamont

Altamont firefighters were called to a barn on fire Friday evening.

Altamont Fire Chief Jon Becker said the call came about 5:15pm to the Zaelon "Zig" Rohwedder farm on North 300th Street, just south of 700th Avenue. Becker said Rohwedder was burning a pile of wood that ignited the barn. A camper was also damaged by the fire.

No one was injured. Shumway firefighters assisted the Altamont department at the scene, along with Abbott EMS.
