Mayor Proclaims 2019 United Way Week

Effingham Mayor Mike Schutzbach has proclaimed the week of August 24-31 as United Way Week.

The proclamation acknowledges the organization's 59 years of service in Effingham County. United Way provides support to 22 local partner agencies through money provided by Effingham County businesses and residents.

Partner agencies receiving funds from the 2019 campaign are Altamont After School Program; Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation; Big Brothers Big Sisters Mid Illinois; Boy Scouts Lincoln Trails Council; Catholic Charities; CEFS Literacy Program; CEFS Retired Senior Volunteer Program; Child Advocacy Center of East Central Illinois; Effingham Child Development Center; Effingham County FISH Human Services; Effingham County Search and Rescue; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois; Heartland Human Services; Meals on Wheels of CEFS; One Hope United; Oneighty; SAFE (Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies); Senior Services of Effingham County; STAR (Strategic Training and Restoration); SWAN (Stopping Woman Abuse Now); and the Unit 40 Mentoring Program.
