Shayna Phillips is 2019 Fair Queen

Congratulations to Shayna Phillips, the 2019 Miss Effingham County Fair Queen.

Queen Shayna, the daughter of Glen and Jeni Phillips of Effingham, was crowned Tuesday night by retiring queen Serena Strullmyer of Altamont, in ceremonies before a packed house at the fairgrounds at Altamont. She was one of 11 candidates for queen.

Shayna will reign over the balance of this year's fair, and will compete in January at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention queen pageant for the right to be named Illinois County Fair Queen and reign over the 2020 Illinois State Fair and DuQuoin State Fair.

Morgan Phillips was first runner-up, Katelyn Jansen second runner-up, and Emily Becker third runner-up.

Hannah Paquette was the People's Choice award winner and also won the Biggest Fan Club award. Lea Thompson won the highest ticket sales award.
