Monday's harness racing card at the Effingham County Fair has been rained out.

The six heats that were scheduled Monday will instead be combined with the five heats scheduled on Tuesday and will be run as a doubleheader on Tuesday. Please note that the Tuesday racing will now have a 12 noon post time. We will broadcast the entire card of racing Tuesday on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com

The 10 heats run Sunday was the most heats in one day in more than a decade at Altamont.

Sunday also saw the debut of the new winner's circle at the track. Above is a photo of the first heat to utilize the winner's circle.

Still on tap for Monday at the fair: Pie crust tips in the Schuetzenfest Building at 3:30pm and 5:30pm; Hasting's Filters and Dust and Son Truck, Tractor and Garden Tractor Pull at 6:30pm; Junior Boer Goat judging at 12:30pm; and the 4-H sheep show at 3pm. The 4-H swine show and poultry and waterfowl show began earlier Monday, along with the junior beef show and Class A beef and Class F sheep shows.

A reminder that we are airing 4-H judging results each weekday morning at 8:45am on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com
