The 2019 edition of EffingHAM-JAM is underway in downtown Effingham.
The Hometown Throwdown is being held this evening, while the official Kansas City Barbecue Society competition will begin at noon on Saturday. A dozen competitors are downtown tonight. 25 competitors are expected on Saturday.
In addition to the cooking, there will be kids games, musical performances and the Hog Jog 5K Walk/Run, set to begin at 6pm from Effingham Public Library.
Saturday will feature a pancakes and sausage breakfast from 8 to 10am, along with the kids activities and a Dilly Bar eating contest at 1pm.
Proceeds will benefit the Chamber Foundation, sponsored by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.
