An Altamont man is in custody after his arrest on a charge of home invasion.

Effingham city police officers arrested 24-year-old Jesse S. Tucker on Tuesday.

Tucker is accused of forcing entry into a residence located at Lakewood Manor Mobile Home Park this past Friday. Once inside the residence, Tucker is accused of throwing items and damaging property. Tucker is then accused of striking an occupant of the residence.

City police say the occupant of the residence was injured, but did not seek medical treatment. Police say Tucker and the occupant had formerly been involved in a relationship.

Home Invasion is a Class X Felony, punishable by six to 30 years in prison.

The Effingham Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Altamont Police Department.
