Brownstown School Board Approves Amended Budget, Acts on Personnel

Brownstown school board members Monday adopted an amended budget for the current fiscal year.

The Board approved property/casualty insurance coverage as well as workers compensation coverage, and approved a contract with Jacy Schaub as bookkeeper/treasurer for the coming school year. Bids were awarded for various commodities.

Board members approved administrator salaries for the coming school year; and okayed a memorandum of understanding with both the Brownstown Education Association and the Brownstown Educational Support Personnel. The Board also awarded a pre-K closet bid from Fulk Construction and a pre-K outdoor classroom project bid from Strobel Construction.

The Board purchased a van to be used for driver's ed and for district uses, and directed Superintendent Mike Shackelford to issue requests for proposals for district projects.

The Brownstown Board adopted an amended calendar for the coming school year, and acted on personnel items. 

Julie Johnson was hired as a fifth grade teacher, hired Dylan Booher as assistant high school baseball coach; and accepted resignations from Lisha Ledbetter as a fifth grade teacher, Isaac Grapperhaus as assistant high school baseball coach, and Josh Behrends as junior high girls basketball coach and high school girls basketball assistant coach.
