North Clay school board members discussed the possible addition of an animal science lab program for the Ag Department during this month's meeting.

The Board tabled the matter for further research.

The Board voted to add athletic training services through Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel; approved an amended budget for the current fiscal year; and approved athletic handbook changes.

In personnel moves, North Clay board members accepted the resignation of Aubrey Wheeler as high school Science teacher; approved Tonni Micklautz as Class of 2022 sponsor; hired Stacey Blair as high school cheerleading coach; hired Jason Henry as high school cross country coach; hired Corie Cowsert as high school head volleyball coach; set a salary for Kim Briggs; hired Trevin Milner as high school custodian; accepted the resignation of Tim Allred as boys junior high assistant basketball coach but retained him as a volunteer coach; and authorized the administration to hire for open teacher, bus driver and coaching positions.

The North Clay board accepted the resignation of Brian Deadmond as assistant principal and athletic director. Deadmond has been hired as junior/senior high school principal at Beecher City, succeeding Phil Lark who will become Beecher City superintendent July 1.

The Board also expressed its appreciation to Rick Batchelor for serving as interim superintendent following Monty Aldrich's resignation. Longtime Jasper school district administrator Travis Wyatt was hired earlier this year to become North Clay superintendent as of July 1.
