Tree, Power Lines Down on Mason-Eberle Road

A tree took down power lines early Wednesday afternoon, blocking travel on the Mason-Eberle Road.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened one mile east of 1100th Street. The tree fell on the power lines, leaving them blocking the roadway.

AmerenIllinois crews are on scene, but as of 1:30pm, thought it could be another couple of hours before repairs are completed and the roadway is reopened.
