Altamont School Board Approves Amended Budget

Altamont school board members have approved an amended fiscal year budget to wrap up the fiscal year. The measure increases the Health and Life Safety Fund by $15,000.

The Board acknowledged the retirements of Ellen Walk and Charlie Niehaus, and approved changing Niehaus' status from part-time in the Teacher Retirement System to technology support in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. Even though retired from full-time status, Niehaus will be working for the District on a part-time basis.

The Board also approved technology training for the members the night of July 8; approved the superintendent seeking bids for banking services; approved a commercial insurance bid from Brokers; and approved the resignation of Craig Stein as a vocational route bus driver.
