Some Photos from VW Welcome Fest

A wide variety of vehicles were seen Friday evening when the VW Fun Run Road Tour made its way into downtown Effingham as part of the Funfest for Air-Cooled VWs celebrated over the weekend at Mid America Motorworks.

Between 250 and 300 Volkswagens participated in Friday night's Road Tour and the festivities in downtown Effingham. The evening featured music, various food items and activities for the kids. The procession through Effingham pretty much followed the usual parade route; down Maple south to Jefferson Avenue, and Jefferson east to the Courthouse square.

Rather than having the Road Tour and downtown Welcome Fest on the Thursday before the Funfest began, it was included as part of the Friday events.
