City, County Leaders Pledge Cooperation

The leaders of Effingham city and county government have pledged improved cooperation between the two bodies.

 

Effingham Mayor Mike Schutzbach and Effingham County Board Chairman Jim Niemann released a joint statement indicating they will "join efforts to improve professional relationships between government entities." The statement indicates "both government leaders understand the strength of working together to keep our community solid and always progressing."

The statement indicates both plan to involve City and County officials in quarterly reviews of Effingham area projects and address taxpayers' needs and concerns. The statement continues "by becoming regularly involved and openly communicating City and County goals, the two units are better empowered to effectively and efficiently move forward towards solutions that promote business and industry while serving our citizens comprehensively."

The statement shares "Schutzbach and Niemann are confident and equally geared up for change in leadership style. Mutual trust and goodwill produces success and community pride. The two indicated "We are excitedly looking ahead and hope to serve you well."
