Three individuals were arrested on drug charges after an incident this week on North 3rd Street in Effingham.

Effingham City Police Chief Jeff Fuesting said the incident occurred Monday afternoon when police executed a search warrant at 311 North 3rd. Police arrested 33-year-old Justin Nelson and 19-year-old Donovan Godert, both of Effingham, and 37-year-old Ramona Evans of Shumway.

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said Nelson is being charged with a Class 2 felony count of methamphetamine delivery and a charge of resisting arrest. Kibler and Fuesting said the resisting arrest count stems from Nelson jumping out of a second floor window during the enforcement operation.

Evans was charged with a Class 3 felony count of methamphetmine possession, while Godert was charged with meth possession and with obstructing justice for allegedly attempting to dispose of evidence.

Nelson's bond has been set at $150,000, Evans' at $7,500 and Godert's at $5,000. Nelson is next due in court on May 22, Evans on May 9, and Godert on May 7.

Kibler said authorities found a little less than five grams of methamphetamine, as well as baggies and scales, indicating a drug dealing operation.
