The Village of Dieterich recently passed an Ordinance allowing for the operation of Non-Highway Vehicles on certain Village streets. The Non-Highway Vehicle is only allowed on Village streets if it is licensed through the Village.

Before a license sticker can be issued, the Non-Highway Vehicle must pass an inspection, you must show a current valid driver’s license and proof of insurance must be given. The license sticker costs $50 annually.

Non-Highway Vehicles will be inspected on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Village Hall by appointment only. Please call Village Hall at 217-925-5410 to schedule an appointment. On Saturday, May 11, Non-Highway Vehicle Inspections will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Village Maintenance Building, located at the south end of the Dieterich High School parking lot. No appointment is necessary for the May 11th inspections.

If anyone is stopped driving a Non-Highway Vehicle on Village streets without a 2019 sticker, they will be ticketed; no allowances will be given.
