The one individual who did damage to St. Anthony Catholic Church earlier this year that could be charged as an adult has received prison time.

Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said 19-year-old Steven Jarden of Effingham pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property for the February incident. Kibler said Jarden was charged with a felony since the offense involved damage to a place of worship.

Jarden was sentenced to three years in prison. The Class 4 felony that Jarden was charged with is typically punishable by one to three years in prison, but due to previous offenses, Jarden was eligible for up to a six-year sentence.

Kibler said one of the juveniles has been sentenced to time in the Department of Juvenile Justice, while the cases of the other two juveniles are still pending.
