Two Major Dollar Projects Begun in Effingham During March

Permits were issued for one new home and one commercial remodeling project in Effingham during March.

City Building Official Michelle Wilkins issued a building permit for a $189,000 home on Granada Drive in La Pasada Estates. 

The other major project is the remodeling at Village Square Mall announced by RMC Cinemas. The project is estimated to cost $174,000.

The home in La Pasada is the first one begun in Effingham this year.

Two single family residential additions were approved earlier this year, a new commercial project was begun in February, and a $1 million commercial addition was approved in January.

The total dollar value of construction projects approved in the first three months of 2019 totals just over $2.1 million.
