A beautiful day and a large turnout resulted in big revenue from last Saturday's Lake Sara Dam Run.

Organizer Ruth Rhodes said the 21st annual event raised $15,000 to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

The dam run drew close to 800 participants this year. It's organized each year by current and retired Illinois State Police troopers in this region.
