Effingham Park Board commissioners Wednesday discussed two of the District's newest projects; Harmony Playground and Evergreen Bark Park.

Park District Director Jeff Althoff discussed the great turnout for the naming event, even with lousy weather that day. He said now the work turns to fundraising, with a committee in place to conduct that effort, with construction to start this summer.

Concerning Harmony Playground, also at Evergreen Hollow Park, Althoff said work is in the home stretch. Activities still to be completed include touch up work on the pavilion and the restrooms inside and other work including electrical, landscaping, plumbing and painting.

Althoff also discussed summer program signup, saying numbers are not firm, considering signup is still underway, but it appears the numbers will match last year.

Adam Huston of Evergreen Mini-Golf discussed his plans for the coming season, including glow in the dark golf.

Wednesday's meeting was the last full meeting for retiring commissioners Dennis Carie and Chris Huelsbusch, who did not seek re-election Tuesday. Newly-elected members Angie Kronewitter and Mike Cunningham will be seated at the May meeting.
