Teutopolis village board members Wednesday continued their discussion of a Tax Increment Financing district agreement with Canarm, a manufacturer of lighting looking at placing a major distribution center in this area.

Canarm is now operating out of Farmweld, and Lori Runde of Farmweld was on hand to discuss about an entrance off Route 40 into the establishment, as well as three-phase electricity to the location and other amenities.

Luke Easton of South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission has worked with Farmweld and Canarm on the development agreement. Teutopolis Village Board President Greg Hess said he would talk with Easton before the village board's next meeting for information on the agreement.

The Board has reached agreement on size and height restrictions on accessory buildings. The guidelines will be submitted to Village Attorney Bill Austin for review before a vote.

The Board heard from a resident of the south end of the village on how to obtain sewer service along Race Street. The resident was directed to talk with Village Foreman Carl Pals, who will talk with the village engineers on how to move the project ahead. It was also voted to maintain health care coverage through current vendor Medova Healthcare since no increase in premiums is being sought this year.

Board members authorized Hess to sign an agreement with the Effingham County Health Department for mosquito larvaciding services this summer, and hired a summer worker. The village is looking for additional summer help, so contact the village hall for more information if you're interested.
