Three newcomers and one incumbent were elected Tuesday to the Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education.
Three newcomers were guaranteed, as Jeff Michael, Todd Schaefer and Carol Ruffner did not seek re-election.
The three first-time board members elected are Jill Wendling, Robin Klosterman and Brad Waldhoff. Wendling led all vote-getter with 2,344 votes received, 15 more than Klosterman who received 2,329 votes. Waldhoff received 2,283 votes.
The only incumbent to seek re-election, Jane Willenborg, was elected to her second term, receiving 1,895 votes, 69 votes more than the fifth candidate, Dannielle Kingery Harden.
The four elected Tuesday will join Patty Russell, Kathleen Smith and Angie Byers, who are in mid-term.
The Board will hold its reorganizational meeting later this month.
