Nominations Being Accepted for Employee of the Year

Nominations are being accepted by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce for the 2019 Employee of the Year. The award is given annually to an outstanding full-time employee who demonstrates a high level of professionalism and commitment to the business. Letters of nomination from employers will be accepted through Monday, April 15th at 5:00 p.m. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Chamber’s website, www.effinghamcountychamber.com, or picked up at the Chamber office and submitted by mail to the Chamber, P O Box 643, Effingham 62401, by fax at 217/342-4228, or by email to bbrown@effinghamcountychamber.com.

The recipient of the 2019 Employee of the Year will be announced and special recognition will be given to the winner and nominees at the 45th annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, May 3rd at the Thelma Keller Convention Center from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, the Employee Appreciation Luncheon provides an opportunity for employers to express their appreciation to their support staff for helping make their businesses run smoothly and efficiently.

Chris Egelston will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. With over 30 years experience as a Trainer, Speaker, Author and Entertainer and a Certified Magic Professional, Engelston uses magic to share his message in keynote speeches, as a corporate entertainer and in sales training. He has presented more than 5,000 successful, engaging and interactive programs that keep his audiences “laughing and learning”.

Egelston will present “Goal-Setting to Goal-Getting…The Magic of Success!” He will reveal an entertaining, practical, proven and profitable 5-step system for setting, and more importantly, getting your personal, professional and business or organizational goals.

The cost of the Employee Appreciation Luncheon is $15 per person and can be paid in advance or at the luncheon. Tables for groups of six or more can be reserved. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Chamber office at 217/342-4147. The luncheon is open to the public.
