Four people were injured in a crash Wednesday evening near Lake Sara.

State police say the crash occurred shortly after 6pm on Moccasin Road at Cardinal Lane.  Police say units involved were traveling on Moccasin Road when a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Kenneth Schwerman of Shumway slowed intentionally and was rear-ended by a car driven by 18-year-old Damian Black of Beecher City.  Black's vehicle was then rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Jason Haslett of Effingham.

Schwerman reportedly told police he felt he was being tailgated, so he slowed.

Schwerman and his passenger, 35-year-old Jamie Schwerman of Shumway were injured, as were Black and Haslett.  All four were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Schwerman was cited for reckless driving, while Black was cited for not wearing a seat belt.
