Dieterich School Board Approves Contracts for Principals

Dieterich school board members Monday approved one-year contracts for junior-senior high school principal Scott Kocher and newly-hired elementary school principal Josh Benefiel.

Benefiel will succeed Kathy Pattenaude, who is retiring at the end of this school year as Dieterich Elementary principal.

The Board also accepted a letter of resignation from long-time aide Cris Bierman, who has been with the District for 22 years, and accepted a letter of resignation from Dennis Bueker as custodian, retroactive to February 12. Todd Dial was hired as a full-time custodian.

The Dieterich board agreed to increase the maximum of cheerleaders to 14 for the high school and 12 for the junior high school, and granted Art teacher Stacey Zerrusen accesss to school facilities to host summer art camps. The camps will be offered in July and Augut for various age groups.

Board members were updated on a third TIF District in Dieterich, one that will include a Dollar General store to be built on the west edge of the village, and approved a technology upgrade proposal from Quality Network Solutions to replace aging desktop and laptop computers. The Board also renewed the District's subscription to its student data management system Teacher Ease for the upcoming school year, and renewed its membership in the IHSA for the coming school year.
