Police say Connor Scott admitted to causing the death of Kaylyn Whitaker in 2014, but Scott pleaded not guilty to first degree murder in Clark County Circuit Court Monday morning.

The 24-year-old Scott notified police in February that he wanted to confess to the murder of Whitaker. He was taken into custody and was formally charged with the murder on February 26. He is being held in Clark County Jail under $1 million bond.

Scott was ordered to go on trial on May 14. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for April 24.
