A telephone conference call was held Wednesday morning concerning the lawsuit involving Effingham County and Lakeside EMS.

The County had brought suit against Lakeside, seeking the ambulance service from operating in Effingham County. A motion for temporary relief was denied in August.

Lakeside later filed a counterclaim against the County. The status of the case was the subject of Wednesday's conference call.

Lakeside's attorney was unavailable for the call, but Judge James Eder was informed that the process of providing discovery between the two sides is progressing. It was also shared that a motion hearing is pending in a Federal lawsuit later brought by Lakeside against the County.

Another conference call was scheduled for the morning of March 26.
